Spring Into Action

I have been gone for a month now and a lot has happened while I was away from the site (not away on a trip). I have not been baking either and its due to being in school and we are already in week five and have three more weeks to go (I’m majoring in accounting). And I have been taking a class in child development for ten weeks and last week was the end of the program (it was hectic balancing both school and this class, but I learned so much). I also got certified in CPR and AED, working on getting my CDA and eventually my masters degree in education. Why? Well we will be opening a family group home soon and we will be working with children from the age 2 1/2 to 5 and we are setting up the basement to be up to code, to be comfortable for the families who decide to be enrolled with us, and making sure its safe and healthy when it comes to the classroom set up and the food we provide.

I never saw myself as an educator but I want to be home with my daughter and being involved in the community. I served in the military and even sold baked goods while in service, but I have noticed that people want to be healthy. Most importantly, inflation has us counting our pennies and we have to be wise about where we spend our money. Have you noticed that when you go to the store, the junk food is cheaper than the real food? They do it on purpose because they don’t want you to be healthy. To eat dessert once in awhile is great, but all the time? It’s none of our business what people decide to indulge in. But the hospitals and doctors make money off of those who are sick. Money can’t be made with healthy folks.

If you care about what you put in your body or you want to begin losing weight, you have to do your research and learn how to read the labels of the products you like to buy and see if it’s even worth consuming. A lot of the food in the United States are overly processed and have way more ingredients than the same product being sold overseas (that says a lot). Go on Amazon and buy yourself some meal prepping bowls and buy fresh meat and produce from your local farmers and markets. You can also grow your own crops right at home if you don’t have a backyard. The reason why I say this is because there are a lot of things happening in the world where our food is being affected, our countries allies are dropping us and joining Russia (Japan), Saudi Arabia wants nothing to do with us, we had a school shooting in Nashville and they say the victim is the trans individual who shot and killed 3 children and 3 adults. There are a lot of things we can’t control but we have to protect ourselves, our loved ones, be united with our neighbors, and most importantly we have to be united regardless of how we see the world.

I sometimes take a break from the site because there are a lot of things I’m working on but I also take the time to be alone in order to think and reflect. I believe we have to do this more often because there’s too much going on from politics, to the train derailments, chemical spills, water contamination, food shortages, banks bailed out, and so on. I also have to mention the states and communities that have been hit by a tornado because it’s devastating to hear about people losing their lives, loved ones, and everything they worked hard for. May the people who lost their lives R.I.P.

I always watch Ryan Hall, Y’all on YouTube and please subscribe to his channel (he is accurate with the weather forecast and he even explains the weather in a way you will grasp the information). Not only does he speak about the Southern states and what the forecast is looking like for the area, but he mentions all of the United States so that people know what the forecast will be in their area and he goes live for hours if people’s lives will be in danger. He wants to make sure that people are prepared and safe anytime a storm is coming. When there is a disaster, his donations go to the people and communities who were affected. God bless him, his team, and the people who donate because they have helped so many people.

Well I feel like I have written a lot today and if you managed to read everything I wrote, thank you and I appreciate you. Life gets hectic sometimes, but I’m happy I was able to get on tonight and write my heart out. I also plan to add more healthy recipes and it will take me some time, but it will be posted in about three weeks.
